# Become a buyer

> Join the buyer waitlist and what happens once DataVendor invites your organization.

Buyer access is invite-only. Your organization joins a waitlist, and DataVendor adds buyer
organizations at a managed pace. Everything you buy belongs to the organization, never a personal
account.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create your account">
    Sign up on [datavendor.ai](https://datavendor.ai) with your work email. You land in
    organization setup.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose Buy data and join the waitlist">
    Pick **Buy data** and choose **Join waitlist**. The button changes to **Added**. There is no
    form to fill in and no NDA to sign at this step.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Wait for access">
    DataVendor reviews the waitlist and approves organizations from it. While you wait, the
    organization switcher shows the organization as **Waitlist · buyer**, and you can create or
    switch to another organization. Once approved, the organization opens as a buyer.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Accept the Mutual NDA">
    Read and accept the [Mutual NDA](/overview/glossary#nda) to open the workspace. Every member
    accepts it for themselves, and again whenever a new version is published.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  Only team admins can spend: buying, sample checkout, bidding, and paying. See
  [Organizations and roles](/overview/organizations-and-roles#members-and-admins).
</Note>

The buyer **Wallet** shows your team's HUD credits, which pay for platform usage on HUD, not for
marketplace purchases. Team admins also manage the cards saved for checkout under **Payment
methods**.

If your organization also sells, it can hold both roles and switch views with the **Vendor** and
**Buyer** tabs at the bottom of the sidebar. See [Become a vendor](/sell/become-a-vendor).
