# Connect your accounts

> Link GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket so you can import codebases and list them.

**Connectors** link DataVendor to the services your supply lives on. Connect a code host before you
import a repository into [Inventory](/sell/inventory/add-assets) or attach one to a
[listing](/sell/listings/create-a-listing). Open them from **Settings → Connectors**, under your
user settings.

Connections belong to you, not your organization. Each teammate who imports repositories connects
their own accounts, and DataVendor reads only the repositories that account can access.

| Connector | What it gives you |
| - | - |
| **HUD** | Your HUD tasksets and environments. Built in; **Open** goes to HUD. |
| **GitHub** | Repositories from the GitHub accounts and organizations where you install the DataVendor app. |
| **GitLab** | Repositories your GitLab account can access. |
| **Bitbucket** | Repositories your Bitbucket account can access. |

Hugging Face and Amazon S3 show as **Not available yet**.

## Connect a code host

<Steps>
  <Step title="Choose Connect">
    In **Settings → Connectors**, choose **Connect** next to GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket, and
    sign in to that service when it asks.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Grant repository access">
    On GitHub, install the DataVendor app on your account or organization and choose which
    repositories it can read. On GitLab and Bitbucket, approve the access request.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Import or attach repositories">
    Back in DataVendor, the repositories you granted appear when you add a codebase to Inventory or
    a listing.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Manage a connection

* **Add account** lists the GitHub accounts and organizations where the DataVendor app is installed,
  so you can connect one. To add an account that does not have the app yet, choose **Install on
  another account**: GitHub opens in a new tab, and the account is connected once you finish
  installing. Add account is in the GitHub **Manage** menu and in the account menu when you pick
  repositories.
* **Manage** or **Manage in GitHub** changes which repositories the GitHub app can read. GitLab and
  Bitbucket offer **Manage on GitLab** and **Manage on Bitbucket**.
* **Reconnect** refreshes a connection that expired or lost access. Do this when a listing shows
  **Copy failed** for a repository.
* **Disconnect** removes the connection and revokes DataVendor's access on that service.

Public repositories cannot be listed or estimated, since a buyer can already clone them. Inventory
hides them when you import, and listing pickers show them disabled.

If a picker says it could not load your repositories, the code host did not answer DataVendor. Your
connection is unchanged; try again in a moment.
